Relive the Nostalgia with ‘Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland’ for the NES
Rugrats fans can look forward to a new game release next year, featuring graphics reminiscent of the classic Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland, developed by The Mix Games and Wallride, offers the option to play in either HD cartoon mode or 8bit mode for those seeking a nostalgic experience. This puzzle platformer allows players to take control of their favorite Rugrat character, including Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil, as they embark on an imaginative journey within a video game.
Its official page says, “Using the power of imagination, babies transform Tommy’s house into a video game world full of action, excitement and adventure!” The game features multiple levels with different themes and bosses, and each Rugrat has its own unique abilities that help you navigate the environment and defeat enemies. You can also play alone or in two-player co-op if you want to enjoy the game with friends.
According to the developers’ announcement, the game is coming to PC and consoles sometime next year. They didn’t say exactly which consoles, but Mix confirmed on Twitter that it will be playable on NES hardware. The game will likely be available as a software download, but the developers are also planning to release physical versions of the title through Limited Run Games.
